Both AISA and Society Manager are licensed for a specified number of users. In this context, the number of users phrase refers to the number of unique, concurrent logins that the system will allow. You may define any number of unique operator codes in the system and you may have any number of computers attached to the network, but only the number of users equivalent to the license purchased will be able to log in to the system at the same time.
Programs licensed under the annual fee model will run for twelve months from the date of activation, and then will require the payment of the next annual fee and re-activation. The charge for unlimited telephone support and upgrade protection is included in the annual fee.
Programs licensed under the perpetual fee model will run forever (at least, we won't terminate its operation so it will run as long as the computer/operating system/network supports 32-bit programs). The charge for unlimited telephone support and upgrade protection is included in the fee for the first year of operation. After the first year, telephone support and upgrade protection can be purchased on an annual basis. Currently, the fee for support and upgrades is $450.00 per annum.
The Advantage Database Server is a database server program that runs on one computer (the server) on your network and serves up data to the other computers on the network (the clients). Advantage Database Server is available in two, five, ten and twenty-five user configurations. For installations of two and five users, the use of the Advantage Database Server is not required, but it is recommended. For installations of 10 licensed users or more, Advantage Database Server is mandatory.
